A Halloween Event is Coming To Rocket League and Starts Tomorrow!

Rocket League is getting into the seasonal content game with its first-ever Halloween event titled “Haunted Hallows.”  It was announced that the special event will kick off tomorrow, Monday, October 16 at 5 PM PST and run through Monday, November 6 at 10 AM PST.

The new event brings with it new game elements, including a new in-game currency, Decryptors, and event crates.

During “Haunted Hallows,” the event system will introduce a new limited-time currency, with the first being Candy Corn.  Players who play and complete Online Matches will earn Candy Corn for playing, which can later be used to purchase special Halloween items.  Items available for purchase with Candy Corn will be unique and do not include items available in “Haunted Hallows” crates.  Candy Corn can be spent throughout the event and will expire one week after the event concludes.

Decryptors will be one of the many offerings available for purchase with Candy Corn and they are one of the newest ways to unlock crates in the game.  With Decryptors, players can unlock special event crates as well as regular crates, however, items unlocked with Decryptors will not be tradeable.

There are three ways to get the “Haunted Hallows” event crates.  Like regular crates, “Haunted Hallows” crates can drop after an online match.  You can also buy event crates using Candy Corn.  In both cases, you’ll be able to open the Crate with a Key or a Decryptor.  Players will also be able to buy event crates directly, similar to how you buy keys in the game currently.  Purchased “Haunted Hallows” crates will not require a key or Decryptor to unlock.

It’s been a while since I’ve played Rocket League and while I’ve been devoting quite a bit of time to playing the Overwatch Halloween event, I might need to play a few rounds of Rocket League to score some Halloween goodies for my cars.
