The Horror Short “Whisper” May Make You Want To Unplug Your Amazon Echo At Night

Sometimes the scariest horror films aren’t the ones that feature the most kills or the most gore.  They’re the ones that mess you with you psychologically and make you think to yourself, “Oh my god that could really happen.”  Director Julian Terry’s latest short Whisper does just that.  In just two minutes Terry messed with my psyche in ways that made me want to abandon the idea of voice-assisted technology at all costs.

In Whisper, a young woman is awakened in the middle of the night by her Amazon echo as it repeatedly tells her it can’t understand what she was saying.  The catch? She isn’t saying anything at all…
