John Carpenter’s Halloween Re-imagined by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross

Ahead of the October 20 release of an all-new anthology album from legendary director and composer John Carpenter, Sacred Bones Records has released a re-imagined version of John Carpenter’s classic Halloween theme by Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross.  The stand-alone single was released today and is available for purchase and to stream on most major digital music sites.

Carpenter’s 13 track anthology album titled, John Carpenter’s ‘Anthology: Movie Themes 1974-1998 features some of Carpenter’s most famous works and includes themes from The Fog, Halloween, Escape From New York, Christine and more. Each theme has been newly recorded with the same collaborators that Carpenter worked with on his hit Lost Themes studio albums: his son, Cody Carpenter, and godson, Daniel Davies.

Physical copies of the album will be available in CD form as well as limited edition orange vinyl, which comes with a full set of 13 7″x7″ prints by Chris Bilheimer featuring new art for the 13 themes on the album and a limited edition “Anti-God Green” colored vinyl along with a 7″x7″ print by Chris Bilheimer featuring new art for one of the themes on the album.  The album can be pre-ordered here.
