5 Creepy Coloring Books to Satisfy Your Adult Coloring Obsession

Adult coloring books are all the rage, but most of the time you’re stuck coloring patterns and shapes that make up some pretty flower or abstract piece of art.  If you’re looking to do some adult coloring, but are tired of the traditional options here are five creepy coloring books that may catch your interest.

Bram Stoker’s Dracula: A Coloring Classic

I’m starting with this one because it’s one I actually own.  This book has some really beautiful imagery featuring iconic quotations and scenes from the classic novel.  What you can’t tell from the image below is that it also has a foiled cover that makes the reds in the image really stand out.  I found my copy at Walmart, but you can also buy it from Amazon.

The Beauty of Horror: A GOREgeous Coloring Book

As the name suggests, this truly is a GOREgeous coloring book.  Created by rocker, author, and artist Alan Robert, this book has been praised as “The World’s Creepies Adult Coloring Book.”  From bats and spiders to terrifying figures, this book lets you color your nightmares.  You can view a trailer for the book below, and it can be purchased through Amazon.

Alice’s Nightmare in Wonderland Colouring Book

Darker interpretations of the Lewis Carroll classic ‘Alice in Wonderland’ are always some of my favorite.  I was a huge fan of American McGee’s Alice video games and thoroughly enjoyed the early 2000’s Knott’s Scary Farm maze Malice in Wonderland, so when I came across this adult coloring book a while back it was quickly one to add to the wishlist.  Illustrated by comic and fantasy artist Kev Crossley, this adult coloring book takes you back down the rabbit hole to a Wonderland years after Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. Alice’s Nightmare in Wonderland is available on Amazon.

Edgar Allan Poe: An Adult Coloring Book

Edgar Allan Poe was one of my first introductions to horror fiction as a kid.  His macabre and mysterious works always fascinated me and ‘The Raven’ may be partial to blame for my love of corvus.  The Edgar Allan Poe adult coloring book features imagery and characters inspired by the works of Poe alongside quotes and excerpts from his famous works.  It’s a must have for fans of Poe and fans of coloring and can be purchased through Amazon.

The Beauty of Horror II: Ghouliana’s Creppatorium

This last book isn’t yet available but will be in stores just in time for Halloween 2017.  The follow up to the previously mentioned ‘The Beauty of Horror’ by Alan Robert is set to be released by IDW publishing on September 12, 2017.  Character favorite Ghouliana from the first ‘The Beauty of Horror’ book has returned and this time she’s tricking colorists into unleashing her deadly spell, hiding ingredients throughout the illustrations.  You can check out the trailer for the book below, and you can pre-order the book through Amazon.
