‘Edward Scissorhands’ Is Getting an Official LEGO Set

This week, LEGO Ideas announced that a stunning tribute to Tim Burton’s 1990 classic “Edward Scissorhands” has been greenlit for official production.

The concept, designed by 52-year-old French fan creator Lionel Martin, was selected from a record-breaking pool of 146 eligible product ideas. The proposal is a massive 5,000-piece set featuring a 360° view of the Inventor’s castle with a fully realized interior. If the set goes into production as is, it would be one of the largest LEGO Ideas sets ever released, rivaling sets like the LEGO Ideas Botanical Garden or Museum of Natural History.

The set is designed to be a love letter to the film, featuring vignettes of iconic moments like the landscaped garden—complete with Edward’s topiary masterpieces—and the emotional ice sculpture scene. The proposed minifigure lineup includes Peg, Kim, Jim, The Inventor, and a Tim Burton minifigure that lets fans place the visionary director right into the world he created.

Now that the project has been approved, it moves into the official product development phase. While Martin’s original design is the blueprint, LEGO’s master designers will spend the coming months refining the build for stability and mass production. Final pricing, official piece count, and a release date are still under wraps, but this is a major win for fans of the Tim Burton classic.
