New R-Rated Trailer Arrives for ‘Pinocchio Unstrung’

“Pinocchio Unstrung,” a bloody slasher take on the classic puppet tale, is officially heading to theaters across North America on July 24, 2026, courtesy of Viva Pictures. Ahead of the theatrical rollout, a brutal new R-rated trailer has dropped, showcasing the gruesome carnage carried out by Pinocchio and his Cricket sidekick—who is voiced by none other than “A Nightmare on Elm Street” icon Robert Englund.

Written and directed by Rhys Frake-Waterfield, the film relocates the classic fable to the halls of an elite London prep school. Influenced by the sinister Cricket (Englund) and crafted by Geppetto (Richard Brake, “The Strangers”), this version of Pinocchio launches a violent crusade to carve himself into a real boy like his brother James, one piece at a time.
