Publisher Wired Productions and acclaimed Japanese studio Serafini Productions have officially announced that BrokenLore: DON’T LIE will launch on September 10, 2026. The psychological horror title is headed to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
If you don’t want to wait until September to get your hands on it, you’re in luck: a free demo is available right now as part of Steam Next Fest.
Inspired by themes of trauma, isolation, and fractured memory, BrokenLore: DON’T LIE is a distinctly Japanese psychological horror experience. Players step into the shoes of Junko, a hikikomori (a modern-day recluse) whose carefully controlled, isolated world begins to collapse as long-buried memories resurface. As Junko’s reality distorts around her, familiar places transform into twisted reflections of her past, forcing her to confront the very people and emotions she has spent her life trying to escape.
The game combines exploration, environmental investigation, and shifting realities. As players uncover the truth hidden within Junko’s memories, an unseen presence begins to watch and react to their actions—meaning every discovery brings Junko closer to truths she may not be ready to face.
Leaning heavily into the game’s unsettling, atmospheric nature, Leo Zullo, Co-founder and Managing Director at Wired Productions, expressed his excitement for the launch:
“At Wired Productions, we’ve built a reputation for publishing distinctive horror experiences that stay with players long after the credits roll,” said Zullo. “BrokenLore: DON’T LIE is an exploration of isolation, memory, and self-deception that creates an experience which feels deeply human while remaining profoundly disturbing.”
To maintain its cultural authenticity, the game features full Japanese voice acting throughout, with subtitles available in 14 different languages for global audiences.
