The Upside Down is returning to Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights in an all-new haunted house based on the fifth and final season of Netflix’s “Stranger Things.”
Developed in direct partnership with Netflix, the house will plunge guests straight into the ultimate battle to save the town of Hawkins. Fans will come face-to-face with the series’ most harrowing supernatural threats, navigating iconic settings from the final season while trying to evade Demogorgons, sinister new creatures, and Vecna himself.
The maze is set to guide visitors through several familiar locales as the barrier between reality and the supernatural collapses. Guests will have to navigate the Wheeler House, the Hawkins National Laboratory, the heavily fortified MAC-Z military base, and the terrifying, reality-bending landscapes of the Upside Down and the Abyss.
For fans looking to grab gear early, Universal is rolling out a limited-release merchandise collection inspired by the house. The initial drop features an ‘80s-nostalgia-infused T-shirt and mug, alongside a new Stranger Things acrylic figure that fits into the separately sold Infernal Carnival collectible display – with additional collectibles representing this year’s lineup coming soon to create one cohesive display.
The merchandise is available right now at Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood, and will launch online tomorrow, Thursday, June 18, at 9 p.m. PST on shopUniversal.com.

Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights runs select nights from Friday, August 28 through Sunday, November 1 at Universal Orlando Resort, and from Thursday, September 3 through Sunday, November 1 at Universal Studios Hollywood. Event tickets for both coasts are on sale now, with additional ticket options for Universal Orlando Resort being released soon.
