Shudder is turning up the volume on its signature horror anthology. The streaming service announced the ninth installment in the “V/H/S” franchise, “V/H/S Mixtape,” arriving Oct. 9 with an all-new anthology centered on sonic terror.
The found-footage feature explores music, rhythm, and sound as forces of possession and destruction, blending cosmic horror, psychological suspense, outrageous splatter, and groundbreaking practical effects.
The film will feature all-new segments from Ernest Dickerson (“Tales From the Crypt: Demon Knight”), hip-hop icon and Wu-Tang Clan co-founder RZA, David Moreau (“MadS”), and Renee Zhan, whose segment includes original puppets by Jim Henson’s Creature Shop.
“V/H/S Mixtape” will also feature original music video interludes directed by filmmaker and musician Flying Lotus, alongside a directorial debut music video from Tobias Forge of the band Ghost. Legendary shock-metal pioneers GWAR also make a featured appearance in the film.
Producers for the ninth chapter include Josh Goldbloom, Steven Schneider, Roy Lee, Michael Schreiber and Brad Miska, with Ben Ross and Rami Yassin serving as executive producers.
“V/H/S Mixtape” follows the record-breaking release of “V/H/S/ Halloween,” which became Shudder and AMC+’s most-watched exclusive film premiere of 2025 and drove the platform’s largest acquisition weekend of the year.
