Rising producers Brooke Becker and Delaney Sharpe have launched Black Ribbon Productions, a new Los Angeles-based banner dedicated to developing horror, sci-fi, and alternative genre content for digital platforms. The company aims to champion underrepresented voices while delivering unconventional narratives tailored for modern audiences.
Black Ribbon kicked off its debut slate on Aug. 6 with “The Veil,” a bite-sized horror anthology series on YouTube.
Additional titles in the lineup include:
- “Emergence”: A sci-fi horror short starring Ambar Martinez (“The Pitt”) and directed by J. Scott Miller (“Future Ref”).
- “Thin Air”: A sci-fi horror short written and directed by Becker, produced alongside Rhymes With Pie Productions. Starring Monroe Cline (“Don’t Worry Darling”), the short recently premiered at the L.A. Shorts International Film Festival.
- “Dark Ages”: A digital horror campaign centered on a woman undergoing treatment for endometriosis in the late 1400s.
The production company launched its first slate with “The Veil,” a bite-sized horror anthology series that debuted its first episode on Aug. 6.
“Black Ribbon Productions was born from the scary stories we used to read under the covers at night instead of doing our homework—terrifying and fascinating tales that speak to our most human experiences,” says co-founder and Lead Creative Producer Brooke Becker. “We’re thrilled to champion fresh voices and bring audiences the unexpected via the platforms they already gravitate toward.”
Co-founder and Head of Client Services Delaney Sharpe emphasized the demand for original storytelling in the digital space.
“Audiences have made it clear they’re looking for bold, original ideas,” Sharpe said. “We’re committed to developing original genre projects while collaborating with filmmakers from historically underrepresented communities as our perspectives help expand what the genre can be. By embracing both digital-first distribution and traditional media avenues, we seek to bring innovative horror stories to wider audiences.”
