Halloween is getting a little sweeter—and a lot stripier—this fall. While the return of its limited-edition Spookie Fudge Stripes cookies was revealed earlier this month, the brand announced Thursday that, to celebrate the comeback, it is relaunching “The Spookie Stripes Safari,” an interactive nationwide scavenger hunt popping up at major zoos and on digital screens starting Sept. 1.
The seasonal treats—classic chocolatey cookies dressed in vanilla-flavored orange stripes and festive Halloween designs—are rolling out to retailers nationwide for a limited time while supplies last.
A Spookie Safari, From Anywhere
Cookie fans don’t need a zoo ticket to join the hunt. Scanning the QR code on any Spookie Fudge Stripes package unlocks access to OpenForMagic.com, an interactive digital zoo. Mobile users can explore illustrated habitats, search for hidden cookies among striped animals, and log their discoveries to earn entries for prizes.
First launched in 2025, the digital platform returns for its second year with expanded zoo environments, updated gameplay, and fresh interactive content through Oct. 31.
In-Person Zoo Activations
For those looking to explore in the real world, Keebler is partnering with prominent zoos across the country for live Spookie Stripes Safari events. Participating zoos will host safari-style explorations for families to identify and learn more about their favorite striped animals, complete with branded signage, Spookie Fudge Stripes sampling, and appearances by Ernie the Elf himself. The experience is included with general admission or zoo membership at all participating locations.
