More than 10,000 hand-carved jack-o’-lanterns will light up the South Coast Botanic Garden this fall when Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group brings Magic of the Jack O’Lanterns back to Palos Verdes.
The family-friendly Halloween event runs select nights Sept. 18 through Nov. 1.
Set along a mile-long walking trail, the event transforms the garden’s pathways into a glowing landscape of pumpkin art, light displays, and themed scenes. Highlights this year include a whimsical circus display, a Día de los Muertos tribute, and an underwater-themed illuminated trail.
A synchronized pumpkin light show will run every 30 minutes. The grounds also feature towering inflatables, interactive photo spots, food and drinks, and a “Fun Zone” with a pumpkin bounce pad and slides.
“We’re thrilled to bring Magic of the Jack O’ Lanterns back for another unforgettable season at the South Coast Botanic Garden,” said General Manager Norberto Urrea. “This year’s show features thousands of hand-carved pumpkins along a beautiful trail, with radiant light displays and immersive scenes at every turn.”
Guests can purchase add-ons such as 3D glasses that transform light sources into pumpkin shapes or s’mores packages for fire pits along the trail.
A low-sensory night will take place on Sunday, Sept. 27, offering a modified experience for guests who may benefit from reduced sensory stimulation.
