Comedy duo Mary and Margo are returning to the stage this October, as Zombie Joe’s Underground Theatre Group announced “Mary & Margo’s Halloween Sideshow of Madness” is coming to North Hollywood.
Created and performed by Katie Oliver and Kristen Hansen, the characters are back from the dead—narratively speaking. According to the show’s premise, after perishing in a tragic theater accident, Mary and Margo have been trapped in the Void, crafting what they hope will be their final masterpiece. To perform it, however, the duo must rely on the audience to summon them back to the land of the living, a process that carries dangerous consequences.
Originally launched as a series of online sketches during the 2020 pandemic lockdowns, Mary & Margo has since expanded into a live theatrical hit. Previous productions have been staged at The Broadwater and Eastwood Hollywood Theatre. Their most recent installment, “The Mary & Margo Art Expérience,” earned critical acclaim at the Hollywood Fringe Festival and secured a Theatre 68 award.
The upcoming production is written by, directed by, and stars Oliver and Hansen. It is produced by Zombie Joe’s Underground Theatre Group alongside Matt Morillo for KADM Productions.
