Interactive storytelling studio Twin Swans has unveiled the expansive voice cast for Hunter’s Moon, its upcoming first-person historical folk horror game arriving exclusively for PlayStation 5 on Oct. 26.
Set over a single fateful night, the voice-acted narrative follows Lilith Thorne, an accused woman fleeing for her life as the relentless Witchfinder General hunts her through an Early Modern village.
The studio assembled a massive 48-actor ensemble to bring over 100 characters to life. Rising star Hannah Morley (“Apartment 7A”) leads the cast as Lilith Thorne, starring alongside Gregg Lowe (Crimson Desert) as the Witchfinder General. They are joined by veteran voice talent Anthony Howell (Silent Hill: Townfall) and Joe Pitts (Lies of P).
Written and directed by Alicia Contestabile—producer of The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe—Hunter’s Moon draws inspiration from the true history of English witch hunts and immersive theater performance. The development team at Twin Swans includes veteran artists and creators whose credits span The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope, and Signalis, with an original musical score composed by Resina.
Rather than relying on supernatural monsters, the game explores how isolation, paranoia, and superstitious beliefs turn a community against its own.
“The witch is an eternally popular mythical figure, and in our contemporary media landscape, we often forget where these stories come from,” said Contestabile. “I wanted to create an interactive theatre, set in this era of magical thinking, and immerse the player in the perspective of an accused woman. Exploring how these beliefs could drive a community to enact such cruelty, the player can experience what it might feel like to face these accusations, from family, friends, and neighbours, and know that your life is at risk.”
In Hunter’s Moon, players must evade capture by the witch hunters and eavesdrop on a characterful cast of folk to aid their escape, in a novel, immersive-theatre-inspired folk-horror that invites them to explore an Early Modern village and its stories.
