Focus Features has unveiled the official trailer for “Werwulf,” the highly anticipated next horror feature from “Nosferatu” filmmaker Robert Eggers. The gothic thriller is set to haunt theaters this Christmas.
Written by Eggers and his “The Northman” collaborator Sjón, the film transports audiences to 13th-century England. There, a mysterious creature stalks the foggy countryside, turning local folklore into a terrifying reality as villagers face an ancient, supernatural threat. Focus describes the project as “a harrowing tale of devotion, damnation, and the devil within.”
The atmospheric trailer offers a haunting first look at Aaron Taylor-Johnson as a man cursed by the beast, teasing an intense, visceral transformation. Taylor-Johnson stars alongside his “Nosferatu” castmate Lily-Rose Depp and Willem Dafoe, marking another collaboration between the director and “The Lighthouse” actor.
Eggers and Sjón also produce alongside Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, and Garrett Bird, with Chris and Eleanor Columbus serving as executive producers.
