AMC+ has released the trailer for the second season of “Sanctuary: A Witch’s Tale,” which premieres on the platform Thursday, December 25, 2025.
Season two picks up a year after the first, as anti-witch laws have sparked hate crimes across the U.K., forcing Sarah (Elaine Cassidy) and Harper (Hazel Doupe) to hide in Scotland. When Sarah returns to Sanctuary, a new murder and rising tensions pull her into a dangerous fight to protect her daughter and her magic.
“Sanctuary: A Witch’s Tale” first premiered in 2024 and is based on the novel by V.V. James. The first season introduced us to the idyllic English town of Sanctuary, where, for hundreds of years, witches had lived peacefully as valued members of society. At the heart of the story is Sarah Fenn, Sanctuary’s resident witch, on whom the town relies to solve its problems when conventional remedies have failed. But when a local teen rugby star dies tragically in an apparent accident, his death exposes a terrifying undercurrent of suspicion and fear toward Sarah and her teenage daughter, Harper, which leads to a modern-day witch-hunt.
The series is Executive Produced by Monumental Television, Alison Owen, Debra Hayward, Amira El Nemr, Alison Carpenter, and Jill Forbes, alongside Showrunner Susie Conklin. V.V. James, Guymon Cassady, and Debbie Horsfield, who created the series for television, also serve as executive producers.
The six-episode season premieres on Christmas Day (December 25), with new episodes debuting each Thursday until the finale on January 29, 2026.
