In an institution designed for those society wants to forget, Pepper must navigate a hellscape of secretive doctors, hostile patients, and a malevolent entity that feeds on the suffering within the hospital walls. To win his freedom, Pepper must face the entity—only to discover that his darkest demons might be the ones he brought with him.
The series boasts an award-winning ensemble cast. Joning Stevens are Judith Light (“Before”), Aasif Mandvi (“Evil”), Hampton Fluker (“Shades of Blue”), CCH Pounder (“Rustin”), b (“WeCrashed”), Chinaza Uche (“Silo”), Stephen Root (“Barry”), Hayward Leach (“Tom Swift”), John Benjamin Hickey (“The Big C”), Michael Aronov (“The Americans”), Philip Ettinger (“First Reformed”), and Marin Ireland (“Sneaky Pete”).
The anthology continues its tradition of high-tier production, executive-produced by Ridley Scott and showrun by Chris Cantwell (“Halt and Catch Fire”), alongside LaValle himself. Horror veteran Karyn Kusama (“Yellowjackets”) sets the tone by directing the first two episodes.
For those looking to revisit the franchise’s roots, the first two seasons—covering a doomed Arctic expedition and a haunted Japanese internment camp—are currently streaming on AMC+ and Shudder.
