‘American Horror Story: 1984’ Goes Hard on the ’80s Looks in Cast Announcement

The ninth season of American Horror Story began filming today and to celebrate the official 1984 cast announcement, series creator Ryan Murphy shared some camera tests from the first day of shooting featuring the show’s stars in their full 80’s garb. If you thought the guys’ shorts in “Stranger Things 3” were short, just wait until you see what “AHS: 1984” has in store.

The upcoming season of “American Horror Story” will feature returning cast members John Carrol Lynch, who played Twisty the Clown in “American Horror Story: Freak Show,” Emma Roberts, Cody Fern, and Billie Lourd. New to the cast is “Glee” alum Matthew Morrison, Angelica Ross (Pose), Olympic skier, Gus Kenworthy, Zach Villa (Shameless, Dan Is Dead), and DeRon Horton (Dear White People). It was announced earlier this week that “American Horror Story” regulars Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters would not be returning for the show’s ninth season.

“AHS: 1984” is set to premiere on FX Wednesday, September 18, 2019.
