The Anaheim Fall Festival and Halloween Parade and Owlverick’s Coffee have announced the launch of a limited-edition coffee bag to raise funds for the annual fall festival, a non-profit organization now celebrating its 100th year.
The Anaheim Fall Festival started in 1924 to curb raucous mischief caused by the local youths in the community during the Halloween season.
“Back then, Halloween-night pranking was a big problem,” says festival co-organizer Kevin Kidney, “so the City Council and neighborhood shops decided, ‘Let’s try to turn that energy into something more productive and fun.’ So, they started the Anaheim Halloween Festival.”
This year, on its 100th anniversary, the festival and parade expect to be the most spectacular yet, with new float designs, a haunted house, and kid-friendly activities constructed and organized by volunteers, artists, builders, and small businesses from the community. There is no cost to attend the festival or parade.
The retro artwork of the limited-edition Owlverick’s Coffee bag was also designed by Kidney, one-half of the creative team Kevin and Jody, who have made countless designs for Disney and Pixar, amongst others. Profits from each coffee bag will assist in funding festival expenses so that it may continue to be a safe, free, and inspiring community event for years to come.
“My family has been roasting coffee in Anaheim for over 25 years. The Anaheim Fall Festival is a tradition in the city, and I’m absolutely in love with what it stands for- wholesome spooky entertainment!” said Amy Tang, Owlverick’s Coffee founder and CEO.
Owlverick’s, headquartered in Anaheim, roasts coffee in-house using Tang’s three generations of roasting experience, which started with her grandfather. The Anaheim Fall Festival Fundraiser Coffee is a medium roast that is nutty, chocolatey, and smooth.
