Horror fans can now turn their genre obsession into a trip to Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights.
“Better Luck Than Chuck,” a new weekly horror-comedy trivia game show, debuted Thursday on YouTube. Hosted by “The Widow” (Alexis Allotta)—self-proclaimed “Wittiest Witch of the Midwest”—and her sarcastic undead husband Charlie (Adam Michaels), the series pits superfans against one another in themed “cate-GORY” challenges covering classic films, iconic monsters, and modern horror lore.
The six-episode inaugural season also brings in heavy hitters from across the genre to read trivia questions, including filmmaker Mike Flanagan (“Doctor Sleep”), producer Chad Villella (Radio Silence), and director BJ McDonnell (“Hatchet III”).
Beyond watching the competition, viewers can participate from home for a chance to win a vacation package to Universal Orlando Resort or Universal Studios Hollywood for Halloween Horror Nights 2027. Each episode features a hidden visual clue. Fans who spot the clue can submit their entry at BetterLuckThanChuck.com/UniversalSweeps.
“Watching the show is only half the fun,” said Tony Wash, co-creator of “Better Luck Than Chuck.” “We wanted to reward horror fans for paying attention and celebrating the genre with us.”
Co-creator Meredith Tummillo added, “Halloween Horror Nights is one of the world’s premier horror events, and we’re thrilled to give one lucky viewer the opportunity to experience it firsthand.”
New episodes of “Better Luck Than Chuck” drop every Thursday at 8 p.m./7 p.m. CT. The winner of the Halloween Horror Nights sweepstakes will be announced during the season finale on Oct. 29.
