‘Clock Tower: Rewind’ Getting Physical Editions Courtesy of Limited Run Games

WayForward and Limited Run Games, in conjunction with SUNSOFT, today revealed a physical collection for the highly anticipated “Clock Tower: Rewind.” Pre-orders for Standard and Collector’s Editions launch on May 31 and run through June 30, 2024, exclusively on limitedrungames.com. Physical editions will be available for Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4 and 5, and PC.

Initially released for the Super Famicom in 1995, “Clock Tower” is a survival horror point-and-click adventure game that follows orphan Jennifer Simpson, who the wealthy Barrows family adopts along with several other orphaned girls. Shortly after arriving at the Barrows family manor, one of the other children is killed by a stalker called Scissorman. Jennifer must then explore the Barrows Mansion to find a way to escape while evading Scissorman.

Much of the plot and artistic style of “Clock Tower” is inspired by the works of Italian horror film director Dario Argento, most notably his 1985 film, “Phenomena.” In turn, it is considered an influence on horror games and a pioneer of the survival horror genre. Now, thanks to WayForward and Limited Run’s Carbon Engine, this influential title is finally getting an international release as “Clock Tower: Rewind” with a feature-filled port that includes a new animated intro, opening and ending vocal theme songs, motion-comic cutscenes, creator interview, art gallery, border artwork, save states, and a music player.

Limited Run’s physical collection tips its hat to the history and genre-defining aesthetic of “Clock Tower.” The Collector’s Edition includes a Barrow’s Mansion Clock Tower statuette, an acrylic figure set featuring classic sprite work, a double-sided poster featuring classic “Clock Tower” art and a new piece from Shintaro Kago, a Demon Idol keychain, a Dan Barrows stress ball, sticker sheet, and Ham object enamel pin. Covers for the game case and Collector’s Edition box feature art from Mariel Kinuko Cartwright and Mr. Kasuy.
