Cosmic Horror Game ‘Moons of Madness’ Gets Halloween 2019 Release Date

Fans of otherworldly horror games are in for a treat this Halloween after publisher Funcom and the developers at Rock Pocket games announced yesterday the release of “Moons of Madness,” a cosmic horror game set to debut on PC, Xbox One, and PS4 this Halloween.

Set on Mars in a not-so-distant future, “Moons of Madness” mixes the scientific exploration of the red planet with the supernatural dread of Lovecraftian horror. You play as Shane Newehart, a technician stationed at a research outpost designed to identify a mysterious signal believed to be from an intelligent origin. The problem is, you are completely unaware of the signal or the research being conducted, and when things start to go south at the outpost, terrifying visions and monstrous apparitions will make you begin to question what is real and what is not.

The game taps into real-world fears of isolation and paranoia, enhanced with supernatural elements to create a truly cosmic horror experience. Players will also have to navigate a functioning Mars base that uses non-fiction elements to immerse players into a believable setting where they’ll have to overcome obstacles using computers, electrical systems, rovers, solar panels, and more.

Check out the games announcement trailer below and look for “Moons of Madness” to hit PC and consoles this Halloween.
