Costume Quest Animated Series Coming To Amazon Prime March 8

If there was ever a game that captured the magic of Halloween and a child’s imagination perfectly it was the “Costume Quest” series from Double Fine Productions. Released in 2010, the role-playing game set on Halloween night let’s players assume the role of Reynold or Wren, paternal twins trick or treating in their new neighborhood. But when one of the twins is captured you and your friends must embark on an adventure to rescue your kidnapped sibling. Collecting costumes along the way, you and your friends magically transform into powerful champions that battle the evil candy-snatching Repugians in hopes of rescuing your lost sibling before curfew. The game received a sequel in October of 2014 and next month “Costume Quest” will get its very own animated series on Amazon Prime.

In the new series, characters Wren, Reynold, Everett and Lucy are back to battle the nougat-fueled monsters that have been wreaking havoc on Auburn Hollow for the last decade. Like in the games they will use their imagination to become champions powered by their homemade costumes, but by the looks of it, this time around they’re getting a little help from a local costume shop owner. Armed with a collection of costumes and their imaginations, the four will fight to save the universe from monsters.

The official synopsis from Amazon:

Wren, Reynold, Everett and Lucy face off against ferocious, nougat-munching monsters that lurk in the shadows of the sleepy town of Auburn Hollow. They must learn to use their imaginations to unlock the magical powers of their homemade costumes and save the universe on a night where monsters reign… Halloween!

The “Costume Quest” animated series will launch on March 8, 2019 on Amazon Prime.

I personally first played the Costume Quest games on console, but there are are a couple advantages to buying the PC version these days. First, you get the Grubbins on Ice DLC pack included with Costume Quest 1 and second, you can score Costume Quest 1 and 2 for PC as a bundle on Steam for just $19.99. So if you’re platform agnostic, PC is definitely the way to go!
