Disney’s ‘Haunted Mansion’ Headed to Disney+ in October

Disney has announced that “Haunted Mansion,” the feature film inspired by the classic theme park attraction, will begin streaming on Disney+ on October 4, 2023.

Justin Simien directs the frighteningly fun adventure, which features an all-star ensemble cast including LaKeith Stanfield, Tiffany Haddish, Owen Wilson, Danny DeVito, Rosario Dawson, Chase W. Dillon, and Daniel Levy, with Jamie Lee Curtis and Jared Leto as The Hatbox Ghost.

The film tells the story of a woman and her son who enlist a motley crew of so-called spiritual experts to help them rid their home of supernatural squatters. The film’s producers are Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich, with Nick Reynolds and Tom Peitzman serving as executive producers.

“Haunted Mansion” opened to mixed reviews and was viewed by many as a box office flop. The film opened in theaters on July 28 and, as of September 10, has grossed $101.8 million worldwide. The estimated budget of the film was $150 million.
