Fall Family Flick ‘Grow’ “Swiftly” Sets New U.S. Theatrical Release for October 17

The fall family film “Grow,” a new release from Fathom Entertainment and Double Nickel Entertainment, has postponed its theatrical debut to avoid a box office showdown with Taylor Swift’s highly anticipated in-theatre release party for her latest album, “The Life of a Showgirl.”

Originally slated to open on October 3, 2025, the same day as “Taylor Swift: The Official Release Party of a Showgirl,” “Grow” will now open nationwide from October 17 to 23, offering audiences a joyful, pumpkin-packed alternative to Halloween horror.

“We are thrilled for audiences to experience ‘Grow’ in theatres beginning October 17,” said Jenette Kahn & Adam Richman, Partners of Double Nickel Entertainment. “We are ‘shaking it off’ and delighted audiences will have the opportunity to experience this story larger than life story on the big screen.”

“Grow” is the spirited new family comedy starring an impressive ensemble cast, including another Swift: Jeremy Swift (“Ted Lasso”), plus Priya-Rose Brookwell (“The Lazarus Project”), Golda Rosheuvel (“Bridgerton”), Dominic McLaughlin (“Harry Potter”), and Nick Frost (“Hot Fuzz”).

Directed by “Anna and the Apocalypse” director John McPhail, “Grow” is a story set in the world of competitive pumpkin growing. When hardened farmer Dinah takes in her abandoned niece, Charlie, she puts her to work on the farm. As they prepare for the town’s epic annual pumpkin contest, they face eccentric rivals and fierce competition. Charlie, with a unique gift for connecting with plants, finds a way to make their pumpkin shine. As their entry grows bigger, so does their bond, and they learn that the real prize is the joy, laughter, and found family that blossoms between them.

Tickets for “Grow” are available at Fathom Entertainment and participating theatre box offices.
