Fan Created LEGO ‘Hocus Pocus’ House Being Turned Into Actual Product

On Tuesday, LEGO Ideas shared the results of its third 2021 review. The LEGO Review Board evaluated 36 impressive product ideas that reached 10,000 supporters between early September 2021 and early January 2022. Ultimately, the board decided to move forward with Hocus Pocus, The Sanderson Sisters Cottage from Belgian Fan Designer Amber Veyt (aka TheAmbrinator).

All Hallows Geek readers will likely recognize Veyt’s name from past coverage. Her original 2020 submission was not approved, but her perseverance paid off, and her updated design wowed the review board. “We believe that it hits a sweet spot for Halloween movies for families, with iconic characters and a location that we really wanted to recreate using LEGO bricks,” shared LEGO IDeas in a blog announcing the news.

Veyt made numerous updates to the cottage with her latest design that included adjustments to the cottage’s scale, its color scheme, an improved water wheel, which you can turn with a crank inside the cottage, and a hinged design that allows you to open the cottage to reveal its interior. She also made updates to many of the sets’ Minifigures.

The updated Sanderson Sisters Cottage features 2,992 pieces. It includes the openable Sanderson Sisters’ Cottage, Billy’s grave, and 12 Minifigures: Winifred Sanderson, Sarah Sanderson, Mary Sanderson, Max Dennison, Dani Dennison, Allison, Emily Binx, Thackery Binx, Binx (as a cat), Billy Butcherson, Ernie AKA Ice and Jay. Notable elements from the original design are also included in the set, such as the black flame candle and the Sanderson Sisters’ spellbook, complete with a spell to turn Thackery Binx into a cat.

The final product design, pricing, and availability for the set have not yet been announced. However, LEGO Ideas plans to share more details closer to the product launch.

As someone who has been following Veyt’s journey since 2020, I couldn’t be happier for her, as this is an incredible achievement and one I think “Hocus Pocus” fans will be extremely excited about.
