“The magic of Jim Henson and ‘The Dark Crystal’ has long been a hit with Fathom Entertainment audiences. We are honored to bring back this cinematic fantasy masterpiece and honor The Jim Henson Company in this, its 70th year of making fantasy magic for audiences of all ages,” said Ray Nutt, Chief Executive Officer, Fathom Entertainment.
“The Dark Crystal” is a live-action fantasy film created by Jim Henson and Frank Oz using only puppets and animatronics. The story follows Jen, a Gelflingโa small, elf-like creatureโwho is the last of his kind. He is tasked with a critical mission: to heal a powerful, cracked gem called the Crystal of Truth before the Great Conjunction, a rare cosmic event.
Jen’s journey is a race against time. The Crystal is the source of all life on the planet Thra, but its power has been corrupted by the evil Skeksis, who use it to steal life force from other creatures. Guided by a prophecy, Jen must find the missing shard of the Crystal and restore it. Along the way, he teams up with Kira, another Gelfling, and together they face the formidable Skeksis and their monstrous Garthim soldiers to bring balance back to their world.
Tickets for “The Dark Crystal” are now on sale at Fathom Entertainment and participating theater box offices.
