Following its North American theatrical run last month, the award-winning indie horror “Ever After” is officially bringing its twisted storybook nightmare home to digital platforms on Oct. 27.
Directed and written by Laszlo Illes (“Haunting Trophies”), the film assembles an elite lineup of horror royalty, including Mark Sheppard (“Supernatural”), Bonnie Aarons (“The Nun”), Michael Berryman (“The Hills Have Eyes”), Kane Hodder (“Friday the 13th”), and Malcolm McDowell (“A Clockwork Orange”).
The story centers on a group of friends celebrating a bachelorette weekend at a secluded forest lodge. Their getaway turns deadly when they realize the surrounding woods are controlled by a violent group of fanatics who believe they are living out the roles of classic fairy-tale heroes and villains.
As night falls, twisted interpretations of Little Red Riding Hood, the Big Bad Wolf, the Evil Queen, and Prince Charming emerge from the treeline. What begins as a secluded weekend quickly devolves into a brutal fight for survival as beloved childhood mythology is transformed into a bloody nightmare.
Featuring practical creature effects, large-scale set pieces, and an extraordinary ensemble of genre icons, “Ever After” arrives on digital VOD platforms nationwide Oct. 27.
