Jessica Chastain Pulls Double Duty in Terrifying First Trailer for Blumhouse’s ‘Other Mommy’

Universal Pictures and Blumhouse have unleashed the first official trailer for “Other Mommy,” an upcoming supernatural horror feature starring Academy Award winner Jessica Chastain (“It Chapter Two”).

Directed by Rob Savage (“Host”), the film is adapted by screenwriter Nathan Elston (“Succession”) from Josh Malerman’s 2024 New York Times bestselling novel “Incidents Around the House.” The story centers on 8-year-old Bela, whose life devolves into terror when a sinister entity inside her home takes on the uncanny appearance of her mother.

Chastain pulls double duty in the film, portraying both Bela’s mother and “Other Mommy,” the demonic manifestation tormenting the family. Jay Duplass (“Transparent”) stars as Bela’s father, with Arabella Olivia Clark (“The Housemaid”) playing young Bela.

The supporting cast includes Dichen Lachman (“Severance”), Arian Moayed (“Succession”), and screen icon Karen Allen (“Raiders of the Lost Ark”).

Produced by James Wan under the Blumhouse-Atomic Monster banner, “Other Mommy” arrives exclusively in theaters on Oct. 9, 2026. Executive producers include Michael Clear, Judson Scott, Savage, Malerman, and Ryan Lewis.
