LAIKA Drops Final ‘Wildwood’ Trailer as Tickets Go On Sale

LAIKA has released the final trailer for “Wildwood” alongside the launch of nationwide ticket sales, giving fans their clearest look yet at the studio’s ambitious stop-motion fantasy ahead of its Oct. 23 theatrical debut.

Directed by Travis Knight (“Kubo and the Two Strings”) and written by Chris Butler (“ParaNorman”), the film adapts Colin Meloy and Carson Ellis’ best-selling novel. The story follows headstrong teenager Prue McKeel (Peyton Elizabeth Lee) as she ventures into the Impassable Wilderness—an enchanted forest hidden on the outskirts of Portland, Oregon—to search for her baby brother, who was abducted by a murder of crows.

Alongside her classmate Curtis (Jacob Tremblay), Prue gets swept into a world of talking animals, bandits, and powerful figures driven by grief and ambition. As the pair is drawn into a conflict threatening the balance of the forest itself, Prue must find a way to save her brother while confronting forces that could determine Wildwood’s future.

The voice cast includes Carey Mulligan (“Shame”), Mahershala Ali (“Moonlight”), Angela Bassett (“Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”), Awkwafina (“Crazy Rich Asians”), Jake Johnson (“Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse”), Charlie Day (“The Super Mario Galaxy Movie”), Amandla Stenberg (“Bodies Bodies Bodies”), Jemaine Clement (“Avatar: Fire and Ash”), Maya Erskine (“Mr. & Mrs. Smith”), Tantoo Cardinal (“Killers of the Flower Moon”), Tom Waits (“Seven Psychopaths”) and Richard E. Grant (“Can You Ever Forgive Me?”).

The American Film Institute recently announced that “Wildwood” will make its US Premiere as the Opening Night selection of the 40th AFI FEST on Oct. 21, ahead of its nationwide theatrical release.

Tickets are available now at box offices and online at WildwoodMovie.com. The film will be presented in select premium formats and experiences, including 4DX, DBOX and Dolby Cinema, where available.
