‘Lovecraft Country’ Among Comic-Con@Home Panels Announced By HBO

This week HBO, HBO Max, and TBS announced their lineup of panels for Comic-Con@Home and among the eight virtual panels announced was the panel for the new series “Lovecraft Country” from showrunner Misha Green and executive producers Jordan Peele and J.J. Abrams.

The panel will take place on Saturday, July 25 at 4 PM PT and will be moderated by Entertainment Weekly’s Sarah Rodman. The panel will feature series stars Jurnee Smollett, Jonathan Majors, Michael Kenneth Williams, Aunjanue Ellis, Wunmi Mosaku, Abbey Lee, and Courtney B. Vance. Fans will be able to view the panel for free at https://comic-con.org and via SDCC’s YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/user/ComicCon.

“Lovecraft Country” is a new one-hour drama series based on Matt Ruff ‘s novel of the same name. The series follows Atticus Freeman (Jonathan Majors) as he meets up with his friend Letitia (Jurnee Smollett) and his Uncle George (Courtney B. Vance) to embark on a road trip across 1950s Jim Crow America in search of his missing father (Michael Kenneth Williams). What follows is a struggle to survive and overcome both the racist terrors of white America and the terrifying monsters that could be ripped from an H.P. Lovecraft paperback. The 10-episode series will debut on HBO on Sunday, August 16.
