On Tuesday, Epic Games kicked off its annual Fortnitemares event in “Fortnite.” The yearly Halloween-themed event brings some exciting new additions to the game. In addition to new game modes, quests, and rewards, horror and Halloween fans will be particularly excited about Michael Myers from “Halloween” and Jack Skellington from “The Nightmare Before Christmas” arriving in the shop later this season.
Michael Myers
The Michael Myers outfit will arrive in the shop later this month and bring a handful of other items themed to the iconic killer, including the “Halloween” jack-o’-lantern as a back bling and Myers’ knife as a pickaxe. The image shared of “The Shape” set also shows an emote of a character with a synth device, which I speculate will play the “Halloween” theme.
Jack Skellington
Jack Skellington from “The Nightmare Before Christmas” will join the game as part of the “Pumpkin King” set. The Jack Skellington Outfit will arrive in the item shop later this month and will include a Santa Jack alt style.
In addition to the Jack Skellington Outfit, players will also be able to get their hands on the Zero Back Bling, Peppermint Parasol Pickaxe, and Jack’s Sled Glider. There’ll be two Emotes accompanying Jack Skellington. Jack will also bring two new emotes with him. Jack’s Scary Face Emote comes built into the Outfit, but you can also snag an emote where you travel on clawfoot with the universal Lock, Shock, and Barrel’s Tub Emote.
Alan Wake
Rounding out the licensed outfits for Fortnitemares 2023 is Alan Wake, the main protagonist of the video game of the same name. The Alan Wake outfit and the “Waking Nightmare” set will arrive in the Item Shop when his chapter starts later this season.
The exciting new outfits aren’t the only thing to be excited about. This year’s Fortnitemares is vampire hunter themed and brings with it a Wood Stake Shotgun, a Vampiric Blade, and the return of the Pumpkin Launcher, Witch Broom, and Sanguine Sweets.
