Midsummer Scream Sets 2023 Return; Passes on Sale Saturday

Midsummer Scream has announced its return to the Long Beach Convention Center. The three-day event will take place July 28-30, 2023, and bring Halloween and horror fans from around the world together for a weekend of thrilling delights!

Passes for this year’s event will go on sale Saturday, March 4, at MidsummerScream.org, with General Admission passes available at 40% off for a limited time. VIP Gold Bat passes will also be available while supplies last but are not eligible for the discount.

The 2023 special guest lineup will be headlined by the Boulet Brothers (creators and producers of “Boulet Brothers’ Dragula”), who will be meeting fans all weekend on the showfloor in their interactive booth and leading panels on both Saturday and Sunday. Additional special guests scheduled to appear include Rachel True (“The Craft”), Naomi Grossman (“American Horror Story”), and Trevor Henderson (creator of the viral Sirenhead urban legend), with many more to be announced in the days and weeks ahead!

“This year, we’re putting a new spin on our theme, which we’re calling ‘Ghoulish Games,’ celebrating horror in gaming,” says David Markland, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Midsummer Scream. “That includes creepy board games and toys from our youth, all the way up to video games that feature zombies, monsters, and terrifying creatures!”

Midsummer Scream 2023’s poster art is by Marty “Riet” of One Man Riet, representing this year’s theme, “Ghoulish Games.”

The Ghoulish Games theme will be a common thread during the weekend in a variety of to-be-announced panels and presentations, a gallery and game room, and experiences throughout the event.

For the first time, the Hall of Shadows will be operational all three days, featuring the underlying theme of “Demons & Dragons.” Guests will enter the darkened scare zone by way of a foreboding dungeon, presented by CalHauntS, who have designed the entryway to Hall of Shadows since 2017. Once inside the hall, fans will find nearly 20 haunts and attractions to visit and explore. In the middle of it all, the Decayed Brigade slider team will perform three shows daily Saturday and Sunday.

Throughout the weekend, Midsummer Scream will present a robust lineup of world-class panel presentations that include Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group (LA Haunted Hayride, Delusion, Shaqtoberfest), Winchester Mystery House, Six Flags Magic Mountain’s Fright Fest and other Halloween events, a special look at the 100th Anniversary of the Anaheim Halloween Parade hosted by Disney fan favorites Kevin Kidney and Jody Daily, and a variety of live interviews with leading horror podcasters. Programming partners include Bloody Disgusting, Screambox, and LVCRFT—additional programs and schedule to be announced soon.

Featuring more than 350 vendors and artists, the Midsummer Scream show floor will feature a fantastic variety of apparel, masks, posters and prints, unique artwork, toys, oddities, and spooky decorations from vendors, including Immortal Masks, Trick or Treat Studios, Halloween Shirt Company, Backstitch Bruja, Sin City Props, and Froggy’s Fog.

More beloved components of Midsummer Scream will return, including Paranormal Pixie’s Pumpkin Patch children’s zone, the Black Cat Lounge kitten adoption center, and the Screaming Room Film Festival presented by HorrorBuzz.
