Netflix Scares Up First Teaser for ‘Fear Street’ Film Trilogy

Netflix on Wednesday released the official teaser for its “Fear Street” trilogy, the new film series inspired by R.L. Stine’s best-selling horror series.

Details on the trilogy have been slim to this point, but the new teaser sheds light on the trilogy’s backstory and how the three films, whose timeline spans over three centuries, are tied together. Taking place in the town of Shadyside, the teaser reveals that the town is under a curse, believed to have been set by a witch as a means of enacting her revenge.

In 1994, a group of teenagers discovers that the terrifying events that have haunted their town for generations may all be connected — and that they may be the next targets. The trilogy follows the nightmare through Shadyside’s sinister history.

The three films will premiere over the span of three weeks this summer, with the horror kicking with “Fear Street: 1994” on July 2, 2021. Followed by “Fear Street: 1978” on July 9 and “Fear Street: 1666” on July 16.
