Save the date: Netflix is inviting horror fans to a doomed wedding this spring. The highly anticipated horror series “Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen” is set to premiere all eight episodes on March 26, 2026.
Created by showrunner Haley Z. Boston (“Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities”), the series follows a couple, Rachel and Nicky, during the week leading up to their nuptials. What should be a celebration quickly devolves into a nightmare. As a certain atmosphere of horror looms over the festivities, the couple is forced to confront deep-seated questions about commitment, all while navigating a deliciously fresh twist.
While Netflix is keeping specific plot points under wraps, Boston told Tudum that the series draws inspiration from classics like “Carrie” and “Rosemary’s Baby.” Aiming for a “getting-under-your-skin dread” combined with intense, character-driven storytelling rather than a barrage of jump scares.
The series stars Camila Morrone (“Daisy Jones & The Six”) as Rachel and Adam DiMarco (“The White Lotus”) as Nicky with Jennifer Jason Leigh (“Fargo”), Ted Levine (“Monk”), Gus Birney (“Shining Vale”), Jeff Wilbusch (“Unorthodox”), Karla Crome (“The Last Disturbance of Madeline Hynde”), and Zlatko Burić (“Triangle of Sadness”) rounding out the cast.
The series is executive-produced by the Duffer Brothers (“Stranger Things”), along with Hilary Leavitt (“Stranger Things”), and Andrea Sperling (“Transparent”). Directorial duties are split between Weronika Tofilska (“Baby Reindeer”), who helms four episodes, Axelle Carolyn (“The Haunting of Bly Manor”), and Lisa Brühlmann (“Killing Eve”).
All episodes of “Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen” will be available for streaming on Netflix starting March 26.
