Netflix Teases Season 3 of Stranger Things with Fake Mall Spot

This morning Netflix teased its third season of Stranger Things by releasing a fake commercial for a mall.  The spot appeared on the Netflix YouTube channel and advertises the 1985 opening of The Starcourt Mall in Hawkins, Indiana.  The spot features a number of iconic 80’s mall spots such as Waldenboosk, Sam Goody, Radio Shack and more.  The spot also features a familiar face from the series, Joe Keery, who plays Steve Harrington on the show and who apparently now has a job at Scoops Ahoy Ice Cream.

Coming to Hawkins in the Summer of 1985…the Starcourt Mall! Starcourt Mall will be one of the finest shopping facilities in America and beyond with options for the entire family. Including The Gap, Waldenbooks, Sam Goody, Claire’s and more! Don’t forget to cool off at Scoops Ahoy Ice Cream shop. Starcourt Mall has it all!

While an exact release date has not been announced, the teaser alludes to the idea that the third season will be released next summer, as it ends with the message “Starcourt Mall – Coming Next Summer!”
