On Friday, Lionsgate debuted a new trailer for “The Long Walk,” the highly anticipated adaptation of Stephen King’s novel, to San Diego Comic-Con’s famed Hall H alongside cast members (“Industry”), Garrett Wareing (Ransom Canyon”), Tut Nyuot (“The Witcher: Blood Origin”) Mark Hamill (“Star Wars” franchise), producer Roy Lee, and screenwriter JT Mollner.
The new trailer debuts shocking new footage of Mark Hamill as The Major, and the brutal trial that’s afoot in this dystopian thriller about the Long Walk, an annual, televised contest in which 100 young men walk without stopping along U.S. Route 1.
The film is directed by Francis Lawrence, who dealt with a similar subject matter of a totalitarian regime that televised the death of its people for sport as the director of “The Hunger Games” franchise films “Catching Fire,” “Mockingjay” parts 1 and 2, and “The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes.”
“The Long Walk” will arrive exclusively in theaters on September 12, 2025. Check out the new trailer that thrilled the Comic-Con audience below:
