New ‘Wednesday’ Trailer Introduces Christina Ricci’s Character and Fred Armisen’s Uncle Fester

On Saturday, during a New York Comic Con panel, Netflix introduced fans, for the first time in person, to its Addams family from the upcoming series “Wednesday.” During the panel, the streaming service dropped a new trailer for the series, which gives us our first glimpse at Christina Ricci as Ms. Thornhill. Ricci, of course, famously played Wednesday Addams in the 90s film adaptations of “The Addams Family.” The trailer also introduces an all-new member of the Addams clan, Uncle Fester, who we now know is being played by Fred Armisen.

The new trailer also builds upon some of the teasers and clips that Netflix has released up to this point. The first teaser for the series gave us context around how Wednesday winds up at Nevermore Academy, then a promotional video from Nevermore Academy and a recently released clip gave us a glimpse at life at Nevermore. With the new trailer, Netflix shares more around the mysteries and dangers that Wednesday will be up against during her time at the academy. But by the looks of it, she won’t be facing it alone, thanks to the arrival of Uncle Fester.

“Wednesday” is a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy. It stars Jenna Ortega in the title role alongside Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzman, Gwendoline Christie, and Christina Ricci. The series will premiere on Netflix on November 23, 2022.
