Official Trailer Arrives for Lionsgate’s ‘The Crow’

On Thursday, Lionsgate released the official trailer for its upcoming reimagining of “The Crow,” inspired by James O’Barr’s comic books.

Directed by Rupert Sanders, “The Crow” stars Bill Skarsgård as Eric Draven, a man who must traverse the worlds of the living and the dead to put the wrong things right after he and his soulmate Shelly (FKA twigs) are brutally murdered when the demons of Shelly’s dark past catch up with them. Given the chance to save his true love by sacrificing himself, Eric sets out to seek merciless revenge on their killers.

“The Crow” originated as a comic book series in 1989 from James O’Barr. The supernatural superhero was created as a way for O’Barr to cope with the death of his fiancée at the hands of a drunk driver. The series was first adapted for film in 1994 with the late Brandon Lee as Eric Draven. Lee was famously killed in an on-set accident during filming of “The Crow.” The film spawned three sequels, including “The Crow: City of Angels” (1996), “The Crow: Salvation” (2000), and “The Crow: Wicked Prayer” (2005).

“The Crow” is scheduled to arrive in theaters on June 7, 2024.
