On Tuesday, HBO Max debuted the official trailer for its upcoming series set in the world of Stephen King’s “IT” universe, “IT: Welcome to Derry.” The series is a prequel to filmmaker Andy Muschietti’s feature films, “IT” and “IT Chapter Two,” set in 1962.
The highly anticipated series is slated to premiere on October 26, 2025, on HBO Max. The new trailer suggests that beyond the origins of Pennywise and the horrors he brings to Derry, much of the new series will revolve around the Hanlon family, an African American military family that moves off base to start a new life in Derry, Maine.
The series stars Taylour Paige (“Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F”), Jovan Adepo (“Babylon”), Chris Chalk (“Perry Mason”), James Remar (“Openheimer”), Stephen Rider (“Daredevil”), Madeleine Stowe (“Revenge”), and Rudy Mancuso (“The Flash”), with Bill Skarsgรฅrd reprising his role as Pennywise.
