Apogee Entertainment and “Turbo Overkill” developer Trigger Happy Interactive have announced that the new psychological survival horror title, “Total Chaos,” will now release in Q4 2025 on PC.
Conceived initially as an award-winning total conversion mod of “DOOM II” in 2018, “Total Chaos” has been significantly reimagined and expanded into a modern standalone experience. The game was initially set to launch on July 24, but now players will have to wait until later this year to experience the horror title.
“‘Total Chaos’ isn’t just a game, it’s a descent. A personal one. Every shadow, every sound, every silence has meaning. This delay gives me the time to ensure that the journey into Fort Oasis is as haunting and unforgettable as it needs to be,” said “Total Chaos” developer and head of Trigger Happy Interactive, Sam Prebble. “The island will be waitingโฆ and it won’t let you leave unchanged.”
Set in Fort Oasis, a once bustling haven for coal miners, players will explore a now crumbling wasteland and follow a cryptic radio transmission beckoning you toward the island’s heartโthe forsaken mines. But as you delve deeper into the island’s desolation, the path forward becomes twisted and uncertain, unraveling unsettling truths hidden in the encroaching darkness.
“Total Chaos” is a pulse-pounding, atmospheric nightmare that blends different eras of survival horror hallmarks. It features classically inspired resource management, methodical melee combat and gunplay, haunting visuals, and grotesque environments and creatures.
“Total Chaos” will launch on PC via Steam in Q4 2025. SteamVR support will arrive shortly after launch. Fans can wishlist and play the demo today.
