Ryan Murphy Announces New Season of ‘American Horror Story’ Arriving in 2026 Featuring an All-Star Cast

“American Horror Story” creator Ryan Murphy took to social media on Friday to announce a thirteenth season of the horror anthology series, which is set to arrive for Halloween 2026.

As part of the announcement, Murphy also showcased the all-star cast for the season, which includes numerous returning favorites from past installments. The list of franchise veterans includes Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe, Leslie Grossman, and Jessica Lange.

Notably, pop superstar and actress Ariana Grande is also joining the cast. While her addition might be linked to her recent on-screen success as Glinda in the upcoming “Wicked” films, she has a previous connection to Murphy’s universe, having starred alongside Roberts and Lourd as one of the Chanels in his short-lived horror-comedy series, “Scream Queens.”

“American Horror Story” operates as an independent anthology each season. Yet, notable crossovers have occurredโ€”most famously “American Horror Story: Apocalypse,” which fused characters and storylines from both the “Murder House” and “Coven” seasons. With such a significant number of franchise veterans announced for Season 13, speculation is already running high over whether this will be another major crossover event.
