Abylight Studios and Frictional Games have debuted the release trailer for the Nintendo Switch release of the sci-fi horror game “SOMA,” which is set to arrive on July 24, 2025.
Originally released for PC in 2015, “SOMA” is set deep beneath the surface of the Atlantic Ocean in the underwater research facility PATHOS-II. Players take on the role of Simon Jarrett, who mysteriously wakes up in 2104 to find humanity seemingly extinct and the facility overrun by sentient machines and terrifying creatures. As Simon navigates the dangerous environment, he uncovers the facility’s dark secrets and confronts deep philosophical questions about consciousness, identity, and what it means to be human.
This new release of the game features gameplay optimized specifically for Nintendo Switch. Players can expect fluid performance, crystal-clear visuals, and the full, terrifying atmosphere that made “SOMA” a critical darling on other platforms. Play in handheld mode or docked – the nightmare follows you! The game will also be compatible with Nintendo Switch 2.
