A family living in a remote area of the Scottish Borders is seeking a live-in nanny that will fulfill typical nanny duties; preparing breakfast, getting the kids ready for school, helping them with homework and the like, but there’s a catch. Â Whoever takes the job has to be willing to do so in an allegedly haunted house.
From the job posting on childcare.co.uk:
“We have lived in our home for nearly 10 years. We were told it was ‘haunted’ when we bought it, but kept our minds open and decided to buy the house regardless. 5 nannies have left the role in the last year, each citing supernatural incidents as the reason, including strange noises, broken glass and furniture moving.”
The parents who posted for the position say in the job description that all occurrences have been reported while they have been out of the house, but “feel it’s important to be as up-front as possible to find the right person.”  The job itself pays a salary of £50,000 a  year and includes 28 vacation days as well as bank holidays.  The nanny is also provided with their own comfortable room that includes and en-suite bathroom and private kitchen.
Obviously, there are no ways to verify the claims in the listing, but it was an amusing find nonetheless.
