Sideshow has unveiled the next release in its new range of Universal Monsters collectibles: the Metaluna Mutant. Created in collaboration with Universal Products & Experiences, this Premium Format Figure serves as a high-end tribute to the 1955 science fiction film “This Island Earth.”
Standing 22 inches tall, the museum-quality statue captures the creature’s “Technicolor” aesthetic in vivid detail. The sculpt features the Mutant’s signature bulging brain, oversized head, and insectoid claws, all finished in a psychedelic red-and-blue palette that mirrors the film’s original 1950s grading. The monster is posed atop a base resembling the craggy, vibrant landscape of its home world.
The new figure is now available for pre-order from Sideshow for $750, with an estimated shipping window between November 2026 and February 2027. The Metaluna Mutant joins Frankenstein and The Bride of Frankenstein in an exciting new series of deluxe collectibles, which celebrates the silver screen’s most enduring icons.
