Silverlake Scream Show Returns as Nonprofit with Halloween Night Horror Anthology

This Halloween, Los Angeles’ own Silverlake Scream Show returns with its biggest event yet: the world premiere of a brand-new horror anthology featuring six original indie shorts from emerging local filmmakers. Silverlake Scream Show: Volume 4 takes place on Halloween night, October 31, 2025, at the Silverlake Jewish Community Center. Tickets are now on sale via Eventbrite and are available while supplies last.

Now in its first year as a registered nonprofit, the Silverlake Scream Show is dedicated to spotlighting new voices in horror and building a creative hub for the city’s horror-loving community. Past films from its program have gone on to screen at prestigious festivals, including SXSW, Beyond Fest, Telluride Horror, Palm Springs ShortFest, and Brooklyn Horror, among others.

This year’s anthology embraces the theme “Camp Scream Show”, a chilling collection of scary stories told as if around a summer camp bonfire. But Silverlake Scream Show is more than a screening: it’s a full-on classic Halloween costume party and community celebration. Guests can:

  • Show off their Halloween best (costumes are strongly encouraged)
  • Explore local vendors & pop-ups
  • Feast from food trucks and sip handcrafted cocktail “potions”
  • Enjoy an exclusive tasting hosted by Matthew Lillard’s Macabre Spirits starting at 7:30 PM
  • Dance to a live DJ

“Silverlake Scream Show is not just about making movies,” says the team. “It’s about cultivating a creative community of genre lovers and building the epicenter of indie horror in Los Angeles.”

Join Silverlake Scream Show this Halloween for an unforgettable mix of cinema, community, costumes, and celebration – a horror gathering unlike anything else in Los Angeles.
