‘Stranger Things’ and ‘Wednesday’ Among Netflix Titles Getting New Spatial Audio Feature

On Wednesday, Netflix announced new features as part of its Premium plan, one of which is new spatial audio, which will offer the highest quality sound experience available. The new feature is available on over 700 of the streaming service’s top titles, including “Stranger Things” and “Wednesday.”

Whether you’re watching at home on TV or a computer, or on the go with a phone or tablet, Netflix spatial audio brings an immersive, cinematic sound experience on any device with no additional equipment required.

To demonstrate the difference, Netflix shared a short video featuring clips from “6 Underground” and “Stranger Things,” which you can watch and hear below. I’ve queued the video at the “Stranger Things” clip to keep it relevant.

To see the complete list of titles with spatial audio, type “spatial audio” into the search bar on Netflix. Spatial audio will also be added to popular new titles as they are released.

Spatial audio joins several other features that are part of the Premium plan viewing experience on Netflix, including support for 4K, HDR, Dolby Atmos®, and Netflix Calibrated Mode.
