In celebration of the 45th anniversary of “Friday the 13th,” Horror, Inc. drew a packed house at San Diego Comic-Con with a high-energy, standing-room-only Jason Universe panel that delivered updates across film, gaming, merchandise, and more.
Moderated by Mondoโs Peter Santa Maria, the panel featured Atomic Monsterโs Judson Scott, filmmaker Mike Nelson (“Wrong Turn”), as well as Horror, Inc. executives Rob and Robbie Barsamian and CMO Sheri Conn. Attendees were treated to never-before-seen archival photos from the Barsamian family, favorite memories and anecdotes from the original 1980 film, and exclusive first looks at what’s nextโincluding an exclusive SDCC message from Crystal Lake showrunner Brad Caleb Kane from the set of the highly anticipated origin story/prequel series.
But perhaps the most notable moment from the panel was the surprise trailer drop for Nelson’s vignette, “Sweet Revenge,” presented by Angry Orchard.
Production for โSweet Revengeโ began in June with Nelson at the helm as writer, director, and producer. The short-form vignette will debut on both theย Jason Universe YouTube channelย and through a dedicated microsite hosted by Angry Orchard Hard Cider on August 13, 2025. The hard cider brand is sponsoring the vignette as part of a larger collaboration with Horror Inc.โs Jason Universe, which will continue to roll out for fans later this summer.
