The Killer Klowns from Outer Space Are Getting Their Own Asymmetrical Multiplayer Horror Game

Cult favorite ’80s film “Killer Klowns From Outer Space” will be the next horror title to get an asymmetrical multiplayer game, joining the ranks of “Friday the 13th,” recently released “Evil Dead,” and the upcoming “The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.” In “Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game,” you’ll take sides in the battle between Killer Klowns and citizens of Crescent Cove, team up, and use your wits to harvest humans or save them from the alien invasion.

Players will take on either the role of the Killer Klowns or a brave citizen of Crescent Cove in a 3v7 fight between Klowns and humans. Unlike many asymmetrical multiplayer horror titles, “Killer Klowns From Outer Space: The Game” chooses for you, meaning you may randomly wind up on either the Klown team or the human team. While you may not be able to choose the side you’re on, you will get to select your class, with both Klowns and humans having five classes to choose from, each of which offers up its own set of strengths and weaknesses.

As a Klown, you can choose between the Brawler, the Ranger, the Tank, the Tracker, and the Trapper class. You’ll cooperate in a team of three players, utilize outlandish abilities as you hunt humans with zany weapons, and plan your alien invasion to harvest the Crescent Cove population successfully.

As a brave citizen of Crescent Cove, you’ll be able to choose from five different classes: a Biker, a Cop, a Punk, a Redneck, or a Teenager who must then explore the city for valuable loot and weapons, avoid getting captured by Klowns, and try to survive – or sabotage – the alien invasion.

Each game will take place in a randomly generated map of Crescent Cove, populated with a mix of Klown and Human players alongside non-player characters (NPCs). A unique aspect of “Killer Klowns From Outer Space: The Game” is that if human players die, they can respawn – and even change class – as long as there are still human NPCs from the desired class alive and available for them to embody.

“Killer Klowns From Outer Space: The Game” is being developed in collaboration with the movie’s original creators, the Chiodo Brothers, who serve as executive producers. The game’s score is also being created by “Killer Klowns From Outer Space” film composer John Massari.

The game is being published by Good Shepherd Entertainment and is expected to be released sometime in early 2023 and will be available on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Those interested can sign up to be part of the game’s closed beta. For more information, visit https://www.killerklownsthegame.com/.
