The Mystic Museum’s ‘The Evil Dead: An Immersive Experience’ Is a Groovy Tribute to the Sam Raimi Classic

On Saturday night, The Bearded Lady’s Mystic Museum in Burbank, CA held its opening reception for “The Evil Dead: An Immersive Experience.” The first-ever Evil Dead exhibit features original props from the Evil Dead franchise, artwork inspired by the films and a handful of Evil Dead inspired photo ops.

I was fortunate enough to be a part of the largest opening attendance at the Mystic Museum to date to get a first look at what the Mystic Museum and Renaissance Pictures LTD had created and they did not disappoint.

For fans of the film, there are plenty of screen-used props, behind the scenes photos, and other historic memorabilia to check out. Highlights include Linda’s severed head from Evil Dead II, Evil Ash’s helmet from Evil Dead II, various screen used versions of the Necronomicon, the Freddy Krueger glove from Evil Dead II, original scripts and storyboards, promotional materials and more.

Finally, what’s a movie exhibit in 2019 if it doesn’t have photo ops? At “The Evil Dead: An Immersive Experience” you can snap a photo in the interior of the cabin from Evil Dead complete with film used deer head above the fireplace. recreate the iconic Evil Dead poster or relive Ash’s attempt to recall the incantation and find the true Necronomicon from Army of Darkness.

If you’re a fan of the Evil Dead franchise, this is a must-see exhibit and I highly recommend it. “The Evil Dead: An Immersive Experience” will be on display until December 7, 2019, with plans for signings, giveaways, and other Evil Dead events taking place over the duration of the show.
